your eyes. Think of a realtor.. Whoever you pictured was probably
someone quite different from Darryl Kuntz. Relaxed, down-to-earth,
and very 'real', Darryl in no way fits the stereotypical image
of a slick salesperson.
DEEP
ROOTS IN DURANGO
Darryl
first fell in love with the blue skies and honest charm of La
Plata County in the 1960's, when hired to perform his unique
brand of slapstick, musical comedy on stage at the Strater Hotel's
Diamond Circle Theater. Five years later Darryl walked out of
the footlights and ran into Lynn, back in Durango after a stint
away from college. They married and bought their first home,
a tiny fixer-upper, in one of Durango's older neighborhoods.
Although business took them away in the mid `70's, Darryl and
Lynn promised each other they would return. Kuntz kids have
now attended Durango pre-schools, elementary schools, middle
schools, and the high school.
COMMUNITY
INVOLVEMENT
Whether
auctioning pies at a local fund-raiser, directing the Christmas
pageant at a neighborhood church, "emceeing" Durango
Choral Society concerts, chaperoning middle school 'lock-ins',
or coaching kids' basketball -Darryl expresses his commitment
to the community he loves by getting involved.
"Selling
real estate is more than just a job to me," Darryl says.
"I have to really care about whatever I do. I really care
about Durango."
